CIVIL ENGINEERING TRAINING AT INTEGRAL RISK
The Civil Engineering Training program at Integral Risk equips trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary for various work environments. Our company is expanding its training for Civil Engineering Advisors and supervisors, emphasizing the operational parameters and maintenance needs of machinery.
This training is conducted in near-ideal work environments, but we recognize the importance of familiarizing trainees with less-than-ideal conditions. Simulations of real-world scenarios ensure that operators are well-prepared for the diverse challenges they may encounter.
We prioritize practical training by offering on-site sessions, providing operators the opportunity to practice on familiar machines and understand their workings. Additionally, we train supervisors in earthmoving equipment to help them identify hazards, increase productivity, reduce cycle times, and ensure machines are utilized appropriately. This focus mitigates downtime, reduces repair costs, and improves preventive maintenance scheduling.
Integral Risk is currently expanding its supervisor training programs across mines in Gauteng.
Key areas of focus include Construction Plant Operations, Supervision of Construction Processes, Construction Health and Safety, and General Construction Education. Trainees learn the significance of conducting thorough walk-around inspections before equipment use, an essential component that enhances machine performance and reduces downtime while minimizing work-related injuries. Understanding inspection protocols, identifying potential issues, and effectively reporting them are critical lessons provided in our training.
Pre-operational checks are integrated into our preventive maintenance strategies to enable early problem detection, consequently lowering costs and minimizing operational downtime due to breakdowns. Proper machine operation not only eases strain on the equipment but also emphasizes the importance of reacting to and reporting on-board warnings to extend the machine’s life cycle.
ACCREDITED QUALIFICATIONS AT INTEGRAL RISK
As accredited Training Advisors, we adhere to the latest South African Qualifications Authority requirements. Our training aligns with industry needs, focusing on both novice machine operators and enhancing the skills of experienced professionals.
Our Construction Plant Operations program trains individuals with a minimum qualification of Grade 12 in Mathematics and Science to operate equipment. While we do not provide direct employment, graduates often find work in the mining and construction industries within a year, as companies prefer hiring already-trained operators who can immediately contribute to specific operational needs.
Our second training program, Supervision of Construction Processes, is intended for operators looking to enhance their supervisory skills for more effective, efficient management in construction settings. This rigorous course demands a minimum qualification and is designed for those ready to tackle challenging environments.
Training courses at Integral Risk are structured over a specific duration, with practical machine operations being the most significant expense. To optimize costs, we conduct on-site training whenever feasible and incorporate new technologies such as simulators.
Integral Risk offers comprehensive training throughout Gauteng and has plans to expand into other regions of South Africa. We face challenges, such as language barriers, when providing training in other African countries.
Our long-term goal is to extend training to other nations, utilizing our accreditation expertise to build demand for skilled operators and workers in Civil Engineering Training.
